Sandra R. Scantling, Psy.D., MSN., CST, CIFST

Dr. Sandra R. Scantling is an Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. She is a nationally recognized intimacy expert, author, certified sex therapist, and clinical psychologist in private practice in Farmington, Connecticut.

Helping couples improve intimacy to achieve extraordinary sex has been Dr. Scantling's passion for more than 25 years. She is a licensed clinical psychologist and is an American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists AASECT certified Sex Therapist and diplomate in Sex Therapy. She holds degrees from Boston University, Indiana University and Antioch University and completed a doctoral fellowship and advanced sex therapy training at Yale University.

Dr. Sandy is the recipient of the Connecticut Psychological Association's award for "Distinguished Contribution to the Science of Psychology" and was honored as "Sexuality Educator of the Year." She is the author of Extraordinary Sex Now: A Couple's Guide to Intimacy, co-author of Ordinary Women, Extraordinary Sex, and creator of the phenomenally successful video/DVD series Ordinary Couples, Extraordinary Sex that has sold more than a million copies worldwide. She is also a contributor to The Most Important Thing I Know About ... A series of books on topics of love, family, friendship, faith, and kindness.

Dr. Sandy has been widely quoted and has lectured throughout the country on sexuality, intimacy, and related subjects.

She has authored numerous articles for the Connecticut Psychologist and has appeared on Fox TV Morning Extra and dozens of radio and TV shows including the TODAY Show, Good Morning America, The View, The Early Show, the BBC.

Dr. Sandy has been the intimacy expert and columnist for the Hartford Courant and wrote a twice monthly Sunday column titled: "Intimacy, Sex, and Relationship".
